There is a famous saying that a Sunday well spent brings a week of content!
Make the most of the day before your Monday blues kick in.
This post is all about the Sunday habits that will dramatically improve your week.
The habits do not have to be revolutionary. Just be consistent and show up for yourself every Sunday with these little habits and your life will change for the better.
Make sure that you are effectively spacing out all your tasks for the week ahead so that when the weekend comes you don’t get exhausted.
Here are some smart ways to organize yourself for the week ahead.

Do the laundry
Doing the laundry is an essential thing to do on Sundays.
From college students to working professionals, there is hardly any time for cleaning up during the week. I know, it is one of the tasks that we don’t really enjoy.
I mostly do my laundry on Sunday mornings. I tend to get all of the mundane work done by the afternoon so that I can enjoy the rest of the day.
Meal Preparation
Meal preparation is time-consuming but it can save a lot of money throughout the week.
Make a weekly meal plan and create a list of groceries that you need to prepare the same.
Simply cook all your food and put them in the freezer.
It is a grab-and-go option during the busy work-loaded weekdays.
Moreover, cooking for yourself encourages you to eat better and is one of the easiest ways to look after your health.
With all your meals prepared in advance, you will have no reason to stop and grab unhealthy meals.
Grocery Shopping
Once you have prepared your grocery list for the week, you can just order them online from Ibotta.
You may also head out to your local stores and check for discounts.
Extra Self Care
After working all week, you deserve to get some pampering!
For me, Sunday’s self-care is really important.
You can indulge in plenty of activities like having a dry brush, spa, hair mask etc. These tiny self-care activities turn out to be super helpful for me.
Some of my favorite self-care activities include:
- Taking a bubble bath
- Put on a face mask
- Enjoy some favorite snacks
- Watch a movie
Write down your thoughts
Another way to calm your Sunday anxiety is to dump your thoughts.
Write down everything you have in your mind and a list of things that you want to accomplish in the upcoming week. As you complete the tasks throughout the week you can easily check them off.
Your to-do list can consist of anything like “Do you want to get good grades in college” or “Get 3 clients for your business”.
Tidy up your home
On Sundays, I go through the house and tidy up as much as I can.
Personally, I like to tidy up my workspace, dust things and put things back on the shelves or where they belong!
Throughout the week a lot of things get accumulated on the table.
Clean up your closet and do all the basic chores like dishes and vacuuming.
Plan out your week
The secret to a smooth and stressful week is planning it out.
Write down your tasks for Monday, Tuesday and so on.
Here are some things that you can include in your planner:
- Appointments throughout the week (doctor, salon, etc)
- Schedule office meetings
- Schedule social media posts
- Any meeting with friends
Pick your outfits
Select your outfits for the following week and you will thank yourself later!
Many of you might be grumpy in the mornings and there is little energy to select the outfits for the day. Moreover, if you are late, there would be no time to iron them.
So, it is better to keep them ready beforehand and hang them in a hangar to avoid stressful mornings.
Check your finances
Check your bank account every weekend so that you can have a clear idea of what the spending looks like.
Sit down for some time and review your finances to know exactly where you stand by determining how much money you are supposed to receive, how much you need to pay and what your savings are.
Don’t sleep all-day
Don’t spend the day in bed. Wake up earlier. The earlier you wake up you will have more time to get your work done and accomplish things.
Sundays are meant for taking rest, I know! But it is more important to have a fruitful weekend rather than sleep it away.
Go out for a walk
This is one of my favorite Sunday rituals.
Go outside early morning for some fresh air. Go for a walk or spend some quality time with your friends at a nearby cafe.
It creates a great impact on your physical and mental health as well.
Try these things to have an enjoyable week.
Use Sundays to be more productive and organized. Practicing these habits every Sunday will help you to live your best life.
If not all, pick a few habits from the list and spend your Sundays. This is a great way to kickstart a new week. Having a perfect Sunday routine will only make you feel more prepared for Monday.
